Banana Split Sandwich
Whole wheat or Multi-grain Bread, of a good quality- Natural Chunky Peanut Butter
- Home made Strawberry Jam, large fruit kind
- 1 ripe Banana, cut into rounds
- Dark Chocolate, cut into small chunks
- Spread one side with Natural Chunky Peanut Butter, spread the other piece with the home made Strawberry jam. Arrange the Banana rounds on one side of the bread. Sprinkle the Dark Chocolate on top of the bananas. Place both sides together and cut in two or four. Leave the crust on so that you hair gets nice and shiny or curly depending on which old wives tale you believe.
My son came up with this little gem of a sandwich, I guess some flavour combinations are intuitive. I came up with the title at least and typed the blog post. So thanks to Chef Blair the sandwich is delicious and thanks to Chef Mommy it's full of super foods. You have to have fun with a healthy diet or you won't stick to it and let's face it the kinder won't want to eat it. So let them think they are getting a special treat for lunch while you relax in knowing that it is whole grain, whole nuts, berries, fruit and anti-oxidant rich dark chocolate. Serve with your choice of milk, soy milk or almond milk and you'll get added nutrition in to everyone. I try and make every bite count for my self and my son since we're always rushing around we need the energy.
Here are a few jokes guaranteed to drive you Bananas!
- Why are bananas never lonely? Because they hang around in bunches!
- What did the boy banana say to the girl banana? "You have a lot of appeal!"
- Why did the banana go out with the prune? 'cause he couldn't find a date!
- Our teacher went on a banana diet. Did she loose weight? No but she sure could climb trees!
- Why couldn't the police arrest the banana? Because he split!
Love, Victoria Xo
