10min Eco-House Clean up!
Someone dropping by in ten minutes and your house is a mess? No problem Funny Green Mommy here with some quick clean up tips.- Put all the dirty dishes in the oven, just don't turn it on like my ex did when his mother came for a visit- plastic melts!
- Spray the bathroom with an all purpose Green cleaner, and sprinkle the sink and toilet with baking soda. Spray the kitchen surfaces with a Green cleaner too. Return to the bathroom where the spray has had time to "let the bubbles do the work". Return to find the kitchen has also had time to marinade and the dried on stuff will wipe up so much easier.
- Stick a wet microfiber cloth to a swiffer style mop and do the floor, if you put on fast music you clean faster, three pop songs is about ten minutes so you can judge when your friend is coming.
- Kid clutter in the way get a box or laundry hamper and put every toy, item of clothing into it place the box near the front door and make a sign marked garage sale. Your friend will think you are so on top of the de-cluttering that you've even had time to organise a garage sale.
- I've also mastered the art of the decorative throw, where you put a shall or table cloth over plies, put a vase on top of all of that and no one will ever know.
- Put all your dirty laundry in the washer and dryer, the rest goes under stuff!
- If it's a nice day suggest you go outside instead. Anyone with kids will understand that you live with C.H.A.O.S (can't have anyone over syndrome) some days. Put on something pretty because just because your house looks like a Robert Munsch book doesn't mean you have to look like Caillou's mom!
- Better yet skip the home visit and meet her for a out for a tea. Have a beautiful day!
Remember an overly tidy house is the sign of a wasted life. Love me love my mess.
